The charitable, educational, research and scientific purposes within the meaning of section of 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code of 1954. The following are included: to organize, sponsor and produce educational functions for the boating community and youth of Philadelphia; to promote, encourage and implement safe boating and seamanship; to promote the Philadelphia waterfront and recreational use of the Delaware River and navigable waters of Pennsylvania; to coordinate communication and cooperation between those involved in recreational and commercial use of the navigable waters of the port of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley; and to sponsor the reception of foreign maritime visitors for the promotion of international goodwill and understanding.
